As part of our efforts to activate changemaking in Ghana through the inaugural Student Entrepreneurship Week Ghana, we teamed up with Ashoka Africa to organize the Changemaker Education Network Convening that brought together 60 selected Change Leaders from the education sector.
The goal of the workshop was to engage participants in a system changing conversations focusing on the teacher training, the role of the teachers union, parents association, publishing companies, and government; leading to rethinking approaches for delivering educational contents.
The meeting brought to the fore a need to amplify best practices established by certain institutions while doing away with archaic training approaches. Participants took turns to share thoughts and recommendations on how to, essentially, rethink the educational system, and made commitments on how to participate in that process.
