George Sarpong, MD of KIC Ghana leads SFAN’s Speaker Roster for Quantum Leap Career Fair 2019
SFAN (Stars From All Nations) has released an impressive speaker line-up for Quantum Leap Career Fair 2019 taking place on Wednesday, April 3 at British Council Accra, from 8:00AM — 3:30PM.
The event, organized with support from the British Council, will receive an insightful keynote speech from Mr. George Sarpong, the Corporate Affairs Director of Kosmos Energy and M.D of Kosmos Innovation Center.
For his speech, Mr. Sarpong will take participants of #QLCareerFair19 through a journey of conceptualizing new pathways for job creation in Ghana.
His keynote is premised on an understanding that Ghana needs to create over 300,000 jobs every year to be able to deal with the unemployment situation in the country — according to the World Bank’s head of operation Dr. Beatrix Allah-Mensah.
George is admired as a man who gets things done. Under his leadership, the Kosmos Innovation Center provides a customized mix of capacity building, mentorship, and seed funding to young entrepreneurs and small businesses owners who have big ideas and want to see their country grow. He is an expert in grooming start-ups, leveraging technology and innovation to drive success.
George joined Kosmos Energy Ghana in 2008 as its Director of Corporate Affairs responsible for government relations, community engagement, and social investment. He has ensured that the company’s core values of social responsibility are brought to life to the communities where the company operates.
An accomplished business executive, he has more than 25 years of leadership experience with multinational companies in the US and West Africa, leading marketing and business turnarounds.
Mr. Sarpong earned an M.B.A. from Columbia University.
